Recently reappointed for a second term as City Planning Commissioner, my years of experience with City Government, are training for City Council. I’ve also served for several years as a Board Member of the Friends of the Mt. Shasta Library, and was recently appointed to the Library Tax Advisory Committee.
My work experience includes Hughes Aircraft, as a member of the technical staff, and RAND Corporation, as an administrator.
Over the past 10 years that I have enjoyed living in Mount Shasta, I have seen the challenges of a declining school-age population, an increasing senior population, and an increased transient population during the summer months. Other challenges include the need for downtown revitalization, affordable housing, and employment opportunities. To address these challenges, I will listen, reflect, and respond to citizens, and create opportunities to build relationships for win/win solutions.
If elected, I will be honored to serve you on our City Council. I will work with fellow Council members to form a responsive team. I will work with City Staff, to develop smart solutions, to ensure that we will have a healthy community, physically, and fiscally, not only for the short term, but for decades into the future.
