After having served a 4-year term on City Council, with prior experience on the City Planning Commission, and on the Board of the Friends of the Mt. Shasta Library, my years of experience with City Government makes me uniquely qualified to continue to serve this community. Understanding the individual and collective goals and roles of the Council, City Staff and the public is a continual process, and demands a continual update.
My work experience includes Hughes Aircraft, as a member of the technical staff, and RAND Corporation, as an administrator.
Over the past 15 years, I have enjoyed living in Mount Shasta. I have seen the challenges of a declining school-age population, an increasing senior population, and an increasing homeless population. Other challenges include the need for downtown revitalization, affordable housing, and employment opportunities. To address these challenges, I will listen, reflect, and respond to citizens, and create opportunities to build relationships for win/win solutions.
If elected, I will be honored to serve you on our City Council. I will work with the public to encourage the seeking of common ground and common goals. I will work with fellow Council members to form a responsive team. I will work with City Staff, to develop smart solutions, to ensure that we will have a healthy community, physically, and fiscally, not only for the short term, but also for decades into the future.
